Advanced Insurance Management®  consultants often work with staffing companies--temporary employment agencies and employee leasing companies--to correct problems with Workers' Compensation insurance premiums.

Issues of proper classifications ( as well as of experience modifiers and payroll audits) are often crucial for such employers, and often much more complicated.

We've worked with PEO's and temp agencies all over the U.S., both as consultants where we help them avoid disputes with their insurers, and as expert witnesses when disputes have already arisen and led to litigation.

Insurance companies (and the NCCI) often view staffing companies with particular concern for problems in classifications and modifiers, and this can lead to serious disputes over premium increases that are only made after a policy ends and is audited.  Staffing companies can thus have special vulnerabilities in the area of Workers' Compensation insurance.  Advanced Insurance Management is experienced with the special problems the staffing industry sometimes faces with Workers' Compensation insurance premiums.

For example, knowing the correct Workers' Compensation classification code for your clients' operations is vital for developing an appropriate service charge for that client.  Yet the rules about classifications are complicated and sometimes counter-intuitive.  Your insurance company typically only bothers to look closely at the issue of correct classification after the policy has ended, when the premium audit is done.  If the insurance company changes your policy to a more expensive classification, you can't retroactively raise your charges to your client the way the insurance company does.  The change in Workers' Comp classification can change an account from being profitable to being a net loss.

Advanced Insurance Management specializes in helping staffing companies get classifications right, so they can avoid unpleasant surprises when the insurance company audits their Workers' Compensation coverage.
